About Lions Services, Inc.
Lions Services is a Charlotte nonprofit that has been helping the blind help themselves since 1935, providing employment, training, and community programs — including its own manufacturing operation staffed by people with vision loss. Because the site serves screen-reader users directly, accessibility here is mission-critical, not a checkbox: the site was built to WCAG 2.2 AA, tested with NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver, and publishes its audit results on a public compliance report page.
Custom Work in This Build
- Public compliance report page showing independent audit results: Lighthouse 100 in Accessibility, Best Practices, and SEO on both mobile and desktop, with zero axe-core violations site-wide
- WCAG 2.2 AA accessibility build: skip-to-content link, semantic landmarks, full keyboard navigation, visible focus rings, and screen-reader-announced form errors
- Fully keyboard-operable events calendar with registration integration for the annual Braille Trail Walk for Independence
- Embedded donation platform plus a structured planned-giving section (matching gifts, QCDs, donor-advised funds, stock gifts)
- Managed blog publishing — client press releases go live same-day with organizational bylines
